It was in 2004 that I made the leap from employee to owner and formed Graymatter. The time was right to prove to myself and to my future clients that my experiences as a marketing manager and brand strategist, combined with my creative ability could prove to be a valuable resource for many businesses.
Prior to forming Graymatter, my career included stints on both the agency side and the client side of the business. After spending 6 years honing my design skills at two of the larger graphic design agencies in Toronto, I moved over to the client side working for Labatt Breweries as a brand manager on their innovation team. That led me to an opportunity working as a Marketing Manager for Cerveceria Bucanero, a Cuban brewery, that at the time had a joint venture with Labatt. After spending 3 years in this role, a change of management caused my role to transform into a consultant working with them on a project-to-project basis. The time was right to take my unique set of experiences and skills and begin to build a company where I could deliver strategic design solutions to my own client base. In addition to continuing work with Cerveceria Bucanero in Cuba, Graymatter has now grown to deliver design, print and website solutions to numerous other organizations across a wide variety of industries. I head up a network of talented designers and developers who manage all of our clients needs in a professional and timely manner.
