Celebrating The Sounds of Cottage Country

The Jack Lake Music Festival is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of music in the heart of cottage country in Apsley, Ontario. Set against the natural beauty of forests and lakes, the festival captures the laid-back, carefree vibe of summer in the region while delivering an unforgettable lineup of live music.

The branding project focused on creating a cohesive and memorable visual identity that captured the spirit of a vibrant, community-centered music experience. Graymatter developed a versatile branding system that blended playful, organic elements with bold typographic choices, reflecting the festival’s energetic and eclectic lineup. For the poster designs, we emphasized dynamic outdoor compositions and bright colour palettes to ensure high visibility in both digital and print formats, while creating a series of visual motifs that could be adapted across different promotional channels.

Merchandise design extended the brand’s personality through wearable items, including T-shirts and hats, each featuring distinctive graphics inspired by the festival’s natural lakeside setting and musical themes. By integrating branding, posters, and merchandise into a unified design language, the Jack Lake Music Festival was able to create an immersive visual experience that not only promoted attendance but also fostered a sense of community and festival identity among attendees.

Every poster, piece of merchandise, and touchpoint was designed to convey connection, community, and shared experiences—whether someone is a local resident, a seasonal visitor, or a first-time attendee. By emphasizing the intimate, welcoming energy of cottage country, the festival’s design invites people to come together, celebrate music, and create memories that extend beyond the stage, forging a true sense of belonging and connection within the Ontario music community.
