Putting Toronto at the hub for Canada's beer enthusiasts.

The Toronto Beer Blog is an initiative championed by Chris Schryer, a Torontonian with a passion for the barley suds. What started out as a self-indulgent outlet, quickly grew into a highly touted resource for obtaining information on the latest and greatest products in the world of brewing. As craft brewing took off in this country, so did the popularity of Chris’ blog. He soon found himself with a regular spot on 102.1’s rotation of guests, a popular Toronto radio station. The large and small brewers of this country were taking notice.

Chris came to Graymatter knowing he needed to up his game. The professionalism of his brand and his blog needed to match what his growing audience expected of the Toronto Beer Blog. He wanted it to add to his credibility and support his continued growth.

The logo that we developed for Chris is a simple, yet ornate representation of his brand name. It is a one-colour logo that features an intricate line illustration of hops and barley, with a diverse type treatment for the wordmark. The corresponding blog design is clean and contemporary, keeping the focus on his imagery. Towards the bottom of the design, a stylish black and white photo of the core brewing ingredients, ties the layout together nicely with the logo.
