Graymatter conducted a logo design exploration for the sports media company that would ultimately become Game Time Decision. At the outset, the company was still determining its name and identity, considering several possibilities that captured the intensity and storytelling of sports culture. Options such as Back Cut, 2-Minute Warning, and The Natural were explored, each representing a different tone—from strategic gameplay to iconic sports moments. During this phase, the design process focused on creating visual directions that could flex across multiple potential brand names while still capturing the fast-paced, analytical, and passionate world of sports media. As the conversations evolved, the name Game Time Decision emerged as the strongest choice, perfectly capturing the decisive, high-stakes moments that define both sports and sports commentary.

With the name established, the design direction shifted toward creating a bold, recognizable mark that could live comfortably across digital platforms, video content, and merchandise. The final logo takes the form of a badge-style emblem, a format that draws inspiration from classic sports insignias and team crests. This approach gives the brand an immediate sense of authority and authenticity, positioning Game Time Decision as a trusted voice within the sports media landscape.

At the center of the badge sits the GTD moniker, designed to function as a powerful shorthand for the brand. The initials were crafted with strong, confident letterforms that feel both modern and athletic, ensuring they remain legible and impactful across everything from social media avatars to broadcast graphics. The badge framing reinforces the idea of belonging and fandom, echoing the visual language commonly found in team branding and sports leagues.

The colour palette further strengthens the identity through a clean, energetic combination of dark blue and light blue. The darker blue establishes credibility and depth, grounding the brand in a sense of professionalism and authority. The lighter blue introduces contrast and energy, adding a sense of motion and immediacy that reflects the fast-paced nature of sports analysis and breaking commentary.
